Gomoku is an abstract strategy board game and is also called Five in a Row. It is played with black and white stones on a 15x15 intersections board. Stones can not be moved or removed from the board once placed. Black plays first, and players alternate in placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection. The winner is the first player to get an unbroken row of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Professional rule is wrong The true professional rule should be: 1. Black's very first move should be at the center. 2. White's first move should be inside the 3x3 square. 3. Black's second move should be inside the 5x5 square. 4. After step 3, white's player can decide whether to swap color or not. 5. Black's 3rd move should place 2 pieces of black stone for his opponent to choose from.
