UPDATE: thank you! I did what you recommended and it worked! 😁 thank you! I first started using the Fitbit in 2015 I gave it five stars. A 1 1/2 yrs ago I received the versa 4 as a Christmas gift. And all of a sudden it quit working. I thought maybe it was something I did! However, I bought a new one two weeks ago, and it quit working, black screen! I'm very disappointed that Fitbit didn't just stay with Fitbit, and it paired up with Google I believe since the merge Fitbit went downhill!

The app keeps getting worse to the point of being unusable. Do not pay for premium. Since the merging of the Fitbit and google health apps, my Fitbit no longer tracks my steps, and no longer gives me a resting heart rate, even though I can still see my entire daily heart rate graph. Additionally, the watch faces no longer lights up when I turn or shake my wrist. Yes, I've cleared the cache on the app. I've force restarted my device several times. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, etc.

The old FitBit app was much more intuitive. The sleep function is far more vague and less helpful.
