Description by Ken Kinder (from Google Play)

Have you ever been trying to meet friends in a large public space, but been unable to find each other? I created GPS Share for just such a scenario.

GPS Share lets you privately send a Google Maps link, GPS coordinates, and/or your street address of your location to whomever you want, whenever you want, however you want. Send an SMS message to rendezvous with friends at a stadium or email yourself a reminder of where you parked at the airport. Post road trip updates to Twitter.

Unlike Latitude and many other services, GPS Share does not run in the background and does not share your location with a third party. You use it when you want it.

GPS Share is free and Open Source software and has no advertising. Internet access is used only to download Google Maps tiles.

Recent changes:
Version 2.2: Do not obscure Google logo with coordinates.

Version 2.1: Better way of moving your position by hand: Just pan the map instead of dragging the pin!

Version 2.0: New and updated for modern Android devices!

Now you can include your GPS Coordinates, Street Address, and an app link! Plus, you can manually reposition the pin by long pressing and dragging it.

Finally!

Comments on GPS Share for Android

★★★★★ Works great I love being able to share the exact location from my phone. My apartment is hard to find so I send exact coordinates so people can find me. Wish I could choose to send coordinate in decimal instead of minutes and seconds but that is a small thing.

★★★★★ Great app My husbands car broke down, he sent me his location via gps share, it worked great, very convenient. I will be sharing this with my kids

★★★★★ Veey good app share the location when you dont know where you are!
