The app has been improved recently. Now I can come back to a sermon that I haven't finished, and it will pick back up right where I stopped. At least for a downloaded sermon. I can't speak to whether it works that way without downloading the sermon first. Either way, it's a huge improvement.

UPDATE 5/15/26: well I love the ministry, but they broke the app again. No longer can you find the app in the battery settings on a Samsung in order to allow the app to play in the background under the battery settings. For some reason the app doesn't even exist in the battery settings anymore. So now the app goes to sleep every time my phone does, and I have to restart the app in order to play the sermon. Please fix the app

The update has problems it closes the app when the screen goes out you get a couple of minutes per sermon, and then it cuts out, and you have to reset it. The update is no good do not update

Awful. Recent update makes sermons shut off when screen goes black. Changing settings or reinstalling doesn't fix. I was already annoyed when they got rid of the old app. Now downloaded files no longer go to phone as well. Also, so many sermons are gone now. Sermons still glitch up at times and doesn't save the time frame at times. Fix your app or go back to the old one.
