Description
Gramlok is a social media platform for Indian people. It is based on three guiding vision:
a) "Connecting to the roots, connecting to villages". b) "Voices from villages to the national level". c) "Services to the rural India"
This platform has already created an official page for every Villages, Subdistricts, Districts and States/ (Union Territories) of India. Any person can join this platform. It is completely free.
A person can register with email-id or phone number. He will get an otp on his email or phone as the case may be for verification. A registered and verified user can become a member of upto 5 villages, 4 subdistricts, 3 districts, and two states. A member of an entity can also become an admin of the entity if there is a vacancy. A user can become admins of at most two entities.
A member of an entity can create four types of posts:
1) Activities posts - These are like status updates by members where other users can comment and discuss. Only members of an entity can create posts. For commenting on the post a user need not be a member of the entity. Any verified user can comment on the post or reply to any comment or reply. Activities posts can not be shared and stays with the entities. To see these posts a user has to visit the page of the particular entity. This is meant to connect people to their roots and aimed at fulfilling 1st guiding vision.
2) News posts: This is like activities posts but meant for certain events about which people from other entities may also be interested to know. Accordingly, posts of this category can be shared on the pages of other entities too. Once a news post becomes popular enough, it gets upgraded and can then be shared at a higher level entity. National level news posts are chosen from the most popular news posts at the state level which are displayed on the landing page of this platform. This process facilitates news from villages, subdistricts and districts to reach the national level. News posts fullfill the second guiding vision.
3) Buy-sell posts: People can create posts for buying or selling goods at village, subdistrict and district level. A buy-sell posts created at a village level will also be visible at subdistrict and district level. A buy-sell post created at subdistrict level will also be visible at district level.
4) Services posts: These posts are exactly like buy-sell posts but for getting services or providing services. Buy-sell posts and services posts help local people to get in touch with others who want to sell or buy goods or services. This will provide valuable service to local people. Buy-sell posts and services posts partly meets the third guiding vision of this platform. In future, we will add more services useful for rural or small town people.
5) Events: Members can create a page for any event, festival or ceremony that is happening or is about to happen. This way anyone can get detailed information about that event. You can promote the event by posting and sharing it on the news page. You can get more collections by providing information about the mode of donating. You can raise additional funds by featuring sponsors here.
6) Entity Profile: Administrators can upload cover picture here. They can write about the history, language and culture, social, economic and geographical situation of this entity, important places, educational institutions etc. They can write about the names of the members of the Panchayat institution and about the famous people.
7) User: Every user has their own page where they can see their posts, get notifications and have their profile page which can be viewed by the user if they are public.
8) Chat: Users can send and receive messages from other users. They can chat in real time with other users.
