Terrible - recent update has seen private advert photos disappear, you have to click on an item to see what it is, impossible to just browse. I have at least 10 saved searches which I regularly use, which is now pointless because all I can see are photos of sponsored sellers 👎 Trying to make it work like eBay and failing miserably. Why do Gumtree improvements always make it worse?

Generally pretty good platform for selling unneeded items Locally. Sadly there are far too many Time wasters, but no fault of GumTree. 4 stars because it's changed such that you can't review the Time wasters, as can now only leave reviews IF ITEM DID SELL ! But can't really complain as (unlike Ebay which is getting worse and worse) it is FREE to use :-)

Very useful for buying and selling stuff locally. And good to recycle stuff no longer required for free. The messaging mechanism could be better than it often takes people a long time to respond.

Their customers service is very terrible, they don't resolve customer issues, you keep chasing them all the time, they don't respond to email inquiry, and you have to stay in the queue for almost an hour before you will be attended to and after that wait, nothing will be done, and you come back again for another wait time just to get the same response. I would never recommend this app to my colleague, I have deleted my account with them, my experience with them was terrible.

The latest update has removed most of the search options and replaced them with, what appears to be, a useless Ai categorization system for items. Search terms return unrelated items, the app ignores location settings and shows unrelated items from hundreds of miles away. Every update has made the app worse. It's made gumtree difficult and frustrating to use, and I suspect that's why nobody is using it. There's now hardly any views and nothing is selling.
