Quickly and easily plan your trip from home to work, a restaurant or the theatre or from Schiphol to your hotel or B&B. Check whether there is a diversion or delay on your route. You always have your favourite line’s up-to-date departure times at your fingertips. And now it’s also possible to purchase a barcode ticket for immediate travel.
What the GVB travel app offers you: - Up-to-date travel information: always the most reliable and up-to-date travel information for the GVB network as well as for all other public transport companies in the Netherlands. - Trip planner: plan your trip to any address in Amsterdam or the rest of the Netherlands. - Alert for disruptions: turn notifications on for your favourite line(s). You will receive an Alert if there’s a diversion or disruption. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. The travel network in Amsterdam is incredible and made easier by this app. It tells you times, location and any disruptions. Only thing it missed was one of the metros got diverted to the platform behind me because of the ajax game (literally just turned around and got on)

IF YOU ARE A TOURIST IN AMSTERDAM DO NOT GET TICKETS VIA THIS APP. This is such a hassle. You get the ticket as a qr code but most of the qr code readers in trams and buses are not working. Also, to check in and check out when you have a day pass / 72 hours pass is a weird logic. A transport app and ticket validation system should be convenient for travelers. Additionally, the app doesn't specify which routes are covered by the ticket. This should be made clearer!

We can't buy a ticket at a metro station where the ticket machine is not operational. One star would be too generous for the rating.
