This is an absolute game changer as a mechanic. 160 bucks for the puck, app free too! Turns the scanner game on its head with all things it can do for so little money. Hell im thinking about making a TikTok video on it as a certified mechanic

App is a little slow to load and sync with device, but it's understandable considering how powerful this app/device is. Even on a notorious PIA vehicle like a BMW it does most of the things expensive BMW specific scanners do. Two-way OBD communication is a game changer. The ability to run system specific tests and control subsystem components makes troubleshooting much easier and far more accurate even when working with convoluted German "engineering". Great product and a great companion app.

Works great!!! I saw a previous review about an s/n code to authorize it and that code is in the instruction manual.... this is my second one because I threw the instructions away on the first on. But the second one I saved them and the code is in the instruction manual

Still have to buy the gateway, so the "no fees EVER" and the "FCA secure gateway ready" in the advertisement is false, granted you are not paying a subscription for the tool its self, however, my issue is if you delete a report on accident, you can not recover it, and you have to log into the gateway every time you accidently close where you need to sign in at, or hopping from different functions, it should have a temporary trash bin and gateway log in SESSIONS even if it's just logging in monthly

Bought 2 packages of 2 OBD2 code readers to use with this app. None of the 4 code readers would connect. The app claimed the serial numbers were not valid. Contacted GW support and they "put in a ticket" to have them activated. I waited a few days and the serial numbers were still not active. Contacted support again, and they said they put in another ticket. Waited some more but didn't work. Returned all the code readers. App is COMPLETELY unusable without a code reader to connect to.

App says I need an S/N and verification code from the product. My Gear wrench GWSCAN scanner DID NOT come with either of these numbers. The numbers on the plug aren't it! How is Gear works charging 70 bucks for their cheapest code reader and not CLEARLY supplying all the information needed for it to FUNCTION? I can get frustrated for free at home, but now I'm out 70 bucks too. If the app doesn't connect to the plug, it is stuck for eternity "trying to connect".
