Just use the mobile website I love this "game" (now called Habitica) but the Android app is currently not worth using. I hear they're completely revamping it... In the meantime, just create a Chrome shortcut to the Habitica website, the mobile version actually works great.

No offline. That's pretty much a deal-breaker for me; mobile Internet is very expensive in my country, and the lack of offline means that I have to pay a lot or miss my dailies. Otherwise, as of 2015-11-03, the app seems clunky and the UI design is bad, and it's missing a lot of functions from the website. On the other hand, it actually worked to change my habits—scarily so. If only it could run without Internet…
