Description by Nessy Learning(from Google Play)
Sight words are words that appear frequently in most of the text we read but can't easily be sounded out.
Learn the second 100 high frequency Sight words and Tricky words
Tricky words are phonically irregular words that cannot be sounded out in your head, children need longer to decode these.
Knowing these words is essential – they make up half of all written material!
• Lower case keys help children to succeed. Can we add info as to how/why? • See a word, spell it and earn Hairies • The yeti helper reinforces learning. • Each time you spell a word you’ll collect 3 Hairies. • Tricky words give pink Hairies. • When you have enough Hairies play the game! • Tap a Hairy to make it jump to the flag. • Bounce on yeti bellies and escape from dangers. • There are four mountains to climb and 12 levels of Hairy fun.

I think this app is fantastic. I am using it at school and my little person loves it so much they choose to play it for their reward time, not realising they are learning to spell and type. If I had to pick a downside it would be that there is only one player. When the other children saw it being played, they wanted to join in! – Tina Tortoise
Recent changes: Added "How to Play" screen to explain double jump.

Great app. I've used it in my class with struggling readers.

Good High Frequency Word practice Again, to make the Hairies jump the gaps and over obstacles you need to tap them again while they're flying. Works seamlessly on my Smart Ultra 6.

Nessy Great
★★☆☆☆
I loved hairy phonics so got this. DISAPPOINTED. The graphics and gameplay are great. But not a good app for spelling. You are told/shown a word, then one second later asked to write it. Thats all the learning you get for each word. My kids got them all correct, but ask them later on and doesnt know them. I expected child to learn each word several different ways, each activity progressively harder until word mastered. Expensive for what you get.
★★☆☆☆
Slightly broken interface I've installed and run through the first task and the keyboard interface is inconsistent. The letter ”t" only works on the left hand edge of the button and this will make it more difficult for words to be spelled correctly. I found it frustrating and I can spell! It would also be easy for a young child to miss a word being spelled incorrectly, leading to the app telling them they got a word wrong when they didn't.
