Comments on Hearing Number: Test Your Ears for Android

Been a year, yet you still do not have ANY Google earbuds, not even the pixel bud pro 2, which are way more accurate than any of the apple earbuds, with a wider frequency response as well. But you have a ton of inferior Apple devices listed... seems suspect to me.

This tells you how sensitive you are to speech in volume decibel in each ear. Good practice at least twice then do test. There's a limited list of headphones you can use for accurate results only one Bose Quiet Comfort model is listed (not mine) but it seemed pretty close to the measurements I got at Costco hearing aid test room where I have about a 20 DB loss in the right in 25 in the left. Sell my hearing threshold for speech it said was 40 DB on the left in 45 DB on the right.

Interesting approach however without a pair of ear buds or headphones they list one can really take the test accurately. I tried it out using my hearing aids which still showed a moderate hearing loss in both ears with one side worse than the other. My audio gram puts me more into the moderate to severe category.

Where is the list of devices that will work with this app? I'm using a Galaxy S22 with Sennheiser HD 458BT headphones. I can't get any further than the "Connect Headphones" screen. I'm assuming that the app is supposed to work with Bluetooth since my phone won't take a wired connection. How about making a version for PCs?

This app gets to the point where you select the earpiece, set the volume and then goes no further. I have tried with both the earpiece I have which is listed and also tried the last choice which is none of the above and neither works. UPDATE: The instructions state "Turn on 'Do Not Disturb - Mute notifications, sounds, and vibrations". That, however also turns off the earbuds on my Android based Galaxy phone which then means the sounds from the applications needed for the test are muted also!
