Comments on HIDIVE for Android

★★★★☆ Benjamin Salancik · Sep 22, 2026

I like the anime selection, and your a competitor to Crunchyroll who basically holds a monopoly on western anime distribution. However, the audio quality and dubs are far worse the Crunchyroll too. It's probably just because y'all are a lot smaller than Crunchyroll, but I still hope it improves. I don't understand the other reviews saying the app is hard to use and sometimes things don't work, as personally I haven't experienced any difficulty using the app. Buttery smooth.

★★★★☆ Jonathan Clemens · Aug 23, 2026

Edit: Android app runs well now and search functionality works way better than it did, even just browsing is improved. Most importantly I haven't been experiencing crashing, autoplay not working or show forgetting what episode im on. App is pretty bad overall. From constant crashing to not accurately tracking your shows watched. But has some good exclusives and is cheap compared to other streaming services. Edit to 1 star. Even downloaded shows constantly crash due to errors.

It's been good but the series I was watching lost english dubbing halfway through the series. I understand this isn't controlled by the app but an auto pause feature would be good, so you can read the subtitles before they go off the screen, or a text to speech dub for when normal dubbing isn't available. I downloaded the app to my tv, but it tends to have trouble playing. It keeps skipping frames.

★☆☆☆☆ Lalo Phase · Aug 9, 2026

I love anime but when dub is about to release after sub they disable the subtitles, so you can't even watch until dub is released

★★☆☆☆ Colin Mc540 · Aug 13, 2026

No button to go to next episode. Swiping keeps skipping over shows when I'm looking on home page which is maddening, not saving what I watch is annoying, wish "continue watching" list was just one tap, but it's many taps... Barely any content overall, English dub is even more limited. I have high hopes for this app, Crunchyroll roll needs some competition cuz they going nuts these days. Ending on a positive note: video playback was smooth and there are a handful of shows I enjoyed

★☆☆☆☆ KJONN · Jul 27, 2026

Embarrassing app, can't even watch anime smoothly. I'd be embarrassed to ever say I use Hi dive to even watch one exclusive anime.
