Awesome at its core, but with some issues. The gameplay is very satisfying and fun just like the previous games. I gave up on hcr2 because they migrated to finger soft ID and my Google play data was lost. In the games sometimes it starts lagging really hard, and you see one of the racers dart around like a rag doll. It once happened to me too and actually flung my character to the goal at 20 seconds on a 1-minute-long track. Apart from the bugs, very f2p friendly progression so far, nice!

Hill climb racing without... hill climbing? There is no adventure mode? Did I miss something? The only thing you can do is some racing. The graphics look like a step-down from previous game. 3d is not necessary, the vibe is like to fake and cheap Mario Kart introducing some boxes with boosts and weapons you collect during the race. The physics of cars are much simpler, just hold AFCEL and... that's it! No depth to it whatsoever. Nonsense downgrade from previous game.

User experience became worse with latest addition because now you need to manually skip the Lagoon maps as before they didn't exist. Was play testing on the lagoon maps done by AI? I can't imagine how a human would pass these, especially Lagoon Loop. This map seems to have one goal; to piss off the player in which its successful.
