PROTECT YOUR HOME WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY OWN Turn an old phone or tablet into a reliable home security camera in minutes.
Camerito is a DIY security camera app for home video surveillance: it pairs your own devices into an IP camera and CCTV style system, so you can protect your home without buying extra hardware. Watch live from anywhere, receive motion and sound alerts, and start a two-way audio or two-way video call whenever you want to check in.
♻️ GIVE YOUR OLD PHONE A SECOND LIFE Don't let old devices sit in a drawer. • Reuse a spare phone or tablet as a portable indoor camera for your home • Save money instead of buying extra smart cameras • Reduce e-waste by giving existing hardware a new purpose
🛡️ WHY CAMERITO Camerito is built for quick setup and flexible monitoring. • Pair devices in seconds with a one-time secure code • Works as a wireless WiFi camera at home or over mobile data (4G/5G) • Instant notifications when motion or noise is detected • Smooth live streaming with low latency • Watch on phone and tablet, plus laptop/desktop in any web browser
KEY FEATURES
🏠 Smart Monitoring • Live video and audio: See and hear what is happening 24/7 • Two-way video: Check in and respond instantly • Low-light support: Turn on the flashlight remotely when needed • Camera switching: Front/back and ultra-wide (if supported)
🔔 Detection and Security • Motion detection and sound alerts: Adjust sensitivity to reduce false alarms • Detection zones: Monitor only selected areas • Event timeline: Review auto-recorded short clips of activity • Siren: Trigger a loud sound to scare off intruders • Privacy mode: Pause the camera remotely when you are home
💻 Flexible Viewing • View one camera from multiple devices at the same time • Monitor from your computer in any web browser when needed • Name cameras and assign icons (e.g., "Living Room", "Garage")
👁️ GREAT FOR EVERYDAY SCENARIOS • Home security: Front door, hallway, garage, apartment • Pet camera: Works as a dog camera or cat camera while you are away • Baby monitoring: Check in quickly and hear what is going on • Elderly check-ins: Stay connected with family members • Small businesses: Simple video surveillance for offices and shops • Nanny cam: Check the living room anytime • When you are away: Keep an eye on your property remotely
SET UP IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS 1) Install Camerito on two devices (phone or tablet; viewer can also run in a browser) 2) Choose roles: one device as the Camera, the other as the Viewer 3) Pair them with a one-time code and start monitoring
FREE vs PREMIUM Camerito is free to download and use with core features (supported by ads). Upgrade to Premium for: • More connected cameras • HD video • Zoom • Extended event history (up to 21 days) • Advanced monitoring controls
ℹ️ NOTE Camerito pairs your own devices to create a camera system. It is not a setup app for third-party CCTV or doorbell hardware brands.

Comments on Home Security Camera: Camerito for Android
★★★★★Sara Garrido· Jun 11, 2025
This app is great! I used the app by using my ipad and my phone as the receiver/viewer. I was able to see how my dog was when home alone as we had just moved, and it was great as I was alerted when there was movement and there are a few options like mute sound or speak through the camera, and you can even view 'events' which is where you can view previous movement. The price of premium is very reasonable too!

Finally, I'm impressed with a security app! Ads are out of the way on the screen. Very detailed and clear picture and video. Biggest bonus for this app is it doesn't lose connection or timeout while on and demand attention. I had the app running for about 2hrs and had zero issues. Well done.

Without giving out your credit card info you can't see the actual video quality, the free version is only 220p I believe, completely useless. In the space of 5 minutes it froze twice, uninstalled

I set this up last night, and worked fine while I was still connected to the same Wi-Fi but then left the house and have my mobile data on, and it says camera offline, so I'm unable to view away from home. I also signed up for the premium free trial
