No ads inside the app, no crashes, and the audiobook feature is excellent: plays in the background, adjustable playback speed, slider to skip to desired parts of the recording, etc. I use this app through my local library and I love it!

It's perfect I love it you can get any book without waiting 6 or 7 years for one book and even tho u get 5 free books per month it's fine cuz I don't read that much I only am able to read at most 3

Found Hoopla through my local library. I listen to audiobooks when I clean. Hoopla doesn't have ads and the books go back without having to remember about due dates or late fees. I absolutely love it!

Hoopla regularly logs me out, preventing access to content. Hoopla also regularly forgets where audiobook content was last paused, requiring manual seeking to resume content. Content library is deceiving. Many series only have the first 2-3 books available.

Used to be my favorite app. Now every time I go to borrow it says the collective amount of borrowed from my library (Carnegie) has been used. The libraries fault but no point on keeping this app. Just keeps getting more restrictive to the point you get nothing. Want to lay in bed and read a book? Nope, stay up till midnight when borrows reset. Update: next day tried borrowing a book early am. All libraries borrow used. Can't even use my 5 borrows. Uninstalled listening on Libby now instead.

I really enjoyed this app for a long time. Unfortunately, they have recently begun using unethically sourced, AI Generated images rather than real art or covers, for a vast amount of their media. It is SO disappointing and disrespectful towards the writers and musicians, to unauthorized and unnecessarily opt to utilize generative AI. I will gladly put this review to FIVE stars if they can ban AI generated content as it damages and leaks into every facet of our lives.
