I use hoopla constantly, through my local public library. It is wonderful, for all kinds of people and all kinds of tastes from little kids through old people. Ebooks, audiobooks, movies, tv, music. Thank you so much!

We love Hoopla! Especially for audiobooks. They have a huge and varied selection of books and other media. We love that there is no wait time to borrow, and that the length of time to borrow them is longer than Libby and the library. The app is very easy to use. I wish there was a way to read books borrowed from Hoopla on my paper white Kindle, but I know that's an Amazon problem. Additionally, I wish there was a way to pay for more borrows than our library provides each month--like an upgrade.

If you pause your audiobook, you cannot un pause it, otherwise AMAZING app. We need to be able to preview audiobooks, so we don't have to use one of our checkouts! Hint to fellow hoopla users, use Spotify to preview audiobooks for free. I use wireless headphones, I'm not able to go over to my phone while at work to pause or unpause music and audio looks so, unfortunately, not being able to unpause, makes this app useless to me.

This app will lose your place with both downloaded and non-downloaded audiobooks. The app will show a blank screen sometimes and need to be closed and re-opened. The media player will stop working, forcing you to open your phone and navigate to the app which takes forever to load despite it currently being used then you need to pause, skip, The GUI is terrible and the search function is pretty poor. Hoopla should bring in new devs.

Edit: I'd also like to be able to sort by length, so I can find a quick read or kids book easier, or settle in with a long one. Still not fixed, May '26: Keyboard voice to text causes a bug where I can't resume playback. I have to turn off both cell and Wi-Fi to resume playback. Only workaround I found. Also, pls show the name of the chapter I'm on. Libro.fm has this correct.
