Girafit 2K Window Camera Guide

Setting up a window camera comes with challenges that a regular outdoor camera never has glass glare, indoor lamp reflections, placement angles, and getting night vision to actually see through the pane rather than reflect off it.

This guide covers all of it clearly so your Girafit 2K Window Camera is positioned, configured, and working the way it should from day one.

WHAT'S INSIDE

From Clean Glass to Live View
Everything that needs to happen before your camera sticks to the glass and works reliably cleaning the window surface thoroughly with an alcohol wipe so the adhesive bonds properly, choosing between the peel-and-stick adhesive or suction mount based on your window type, aligning the camera flush to the glass (no air gap) for the clearest image, and completing first-time setup in the Girafit app via Bluetooth. Covers what to do if the adhesive does not hold on certain window coatings or tinted glass.

Your Windows, One Dashboard
How to manage multiple Girafit window cameras from a single app dashboard adding each camera, naming and labeling them by room or window location, switching between live feeds, and viewing up to four camera feeds simultaneously on your phone or tablet. Also covers family sharing so other household members get live access and alerts without needing a separate account.

Night Vision That Survives Glass
This is the feature that makes window cameras different from standard indoor cameras. Traditional infrared night vision sends out IR light that bounces straight back off the glass pane, washing out the image with a bright white reflection. The Girafit 2K uses ChroMax AI color night vision -- which uses ambient light amplification instead of infrared -- to produce a full-color nighttime image that actually sees through the glass to the outside, rather than reflecting back at itself. Covers how to verify ChroMax is active, what lighting conditions work best, and what to do if the nighttime image is still washed out.

Flush to the Glass, Far from the Lamp
Two placement rules that make the biggest difference in image quality. First the camera must be pressed completely flat and flush against the glass with no air gap, or you will get curved lens distortion and haze. Second any indoor lamp, TV screen, or light source within the camera's line of sight will reflect on the glass and appear in the footage. This section covers how to audit your room for light sources that fall in the camera's field of view, how to reposition the camera to avoid them, and how to use blackout shielding around the camera edge if needed.

Local Card, US Cloud, or Both
The Girafit 2K supports two storage paths that can be used independently or together. Local microSD storage: continuous or event-triggered recording saved on-card (card sold separately, not included). US-based cloud storage: event clips stored remotely and accessible from any device (optional subscription). Covers how to insert and format the microSD card in the app before first use, how to access recordings from each storage type, and how the prerecording buffer works for capturing the moments before motion was detected.
