Hushwave: Tinnitus Relief

Ringing in ears keeping you up at night? Hushwave is a calm, private tinnitus relief app built around one simple idea: the most helpful sound is the one designed around your own tinnitus pitch.

In a few minutes, Hushwave finds the frequency of your ringing, then creates personal tinnitus sounds live on your phone: notched sound therapy, a gentle tinnitus masker, rain, ocean and white noise for sleep. Everything is generated in real time, so nothing ever loops or repeats.

How it works
• Tinnitus pitch match: slide a tone from 200 to 12,000 Hz and fine-tune it in semitone steps until it sounds like your ringing. A quick octave check makes sure you haven't landed an octave too high or too low, and a loudness match sets a comfortable level.
• The 60-second relief test: listen to noise centred on your pitch for one minute. Many people notice a short, quieter period afterwards, known as residual inhibition. Hushwave times it for you.
• Your personal sounds: Hushwave uses your tinnitus frequency to shape your sound. Notched noise and notched ambient music leave out a one-octave band around your pitch, while the pitch masker and pulsed tone focus right on it.

Features
• Notched sound therapy: notched noise and notched ambient music with a one-octave gap around your pitch
• Tinnitus masker: noise centred on your tinnitus frequency, plus a pulsed tone at your pitch
• Calming tinnitus sounds: ambient generative music, rain, ocean, wind and fireplace
• White noise for sleep, plus softer pink and brown noise
• Layer sounds into your own mix, each with its own volume slider
• Sleep timer with a gentle 30-second fade-out
• Keeps playing in the background with the screen off
• Hearing-safe volume limit
• Endless sound generated on your device: no recordings, no loops

8-week program and progress
Understanding tinnitus makes it easier to live with. The 8-week program gives you one short read each week: what tinnitus is, why sound helps and how to find the "mixing point", your personal notched sound, better sleep, stress and breathing, shifting your attention, protecting your hearing, and living well, including when to see an audiologist or ask about cognitive behavioral therapy.

A weekly check-in lets you rate loudness, bother and sleep impact from 0 to 10, and a trend chart shows how things change over time.

Private by design
Hushwave works entirely on your device. No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your pitch match, check-ins and settings never leave your phone. The app only goes online for Google Play purchases.

Premium
Hushwave is free to download, and pitch matching, the relief test, weekly check-ins, the first lesson and white noise are free to use, with no time limit. Premium unlocks every other sound, saved mixes, left/right balance and the full 8-week program, as a yearly subscription with a free trial, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. You can cancel the subscription anytime in Google Play.

Whether you want quiet focus during the day or a softer way to fall asleep, Hushwave may help take the edge off the ringing in ears with tinnitus relief sounds made for you.

Please note
Hushwave is a wellness and relaxation app, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or cure tinnitus or any other condition, and experiences vary from person to person. If your tinnitus started suddenly, is in one ear only, pulses with your heartbeat, or comes with hearing loss or dizziness, please see a doctor.
