My wife and I have done 5 trips with HVK sir and used RoutO on all 5. What I like about RoutO is that it is accurate and guides you via the best way. The point of interests is listed accurately, and you can literally find restaurants and any landmark that you can want to visit. Other major positive is that you don’t need a data connection to run the maps. Once you have downloaded the maps, you are all set.

The best offline maps for cross-country travel in India based on extensive experience of decades of road travel across the country by the team. The constructed offline maps are far better than gmaps especially for long distance travel since gmaps continuously alters routes based on minimum time required to reach destination without considering physical road conditions. The only issue that I have faced while using the RoutO app is that the app crashes in some of the android OS versions

This is a scam. You pay for the maps and HVK claims these are better than gmaps. The truth is the UI is pathetic, app is buggy and keeps crashing. They have only those hotels and POI marked where they have tie up. I used it on my trip to north-east, bad decision. Two days into the trip I realized the scam and wish I had read and researched thoroughly. Only after losing ~24,000 rupees I realized the magnitude of this monkey business. Stay away from routo, use gmaps with some common sense.

This apo is not worth the hassle. Google Maps are much better in terms of reliability. The app says its usp is offline navigation but in Gmaps also if you download the navigation map beforehand it will work offline too. I used this app for navigation while going to Leh. But it failed badly. Finally, all I had was G maps to the rescue. The maps are given in separate small segments. So once you finish a Map you have to load the next map from the list and this is very cumbersome. Total waste.
