Ice Catch Fishing

Ice Catch Fishing is a conceptual arcade experience set in a serene yet demanding winter environment. The game focuses on a single, critical task during a cold winter fishing session where precision is the only path to success. The central visual element features a golden fish suspended on a rope, positioned directly above a fishing hole cut into the thick snow and ice. This project is designed as a minimalist simulation of timing and physics, emphasizing a clean aesthetic and focused gameplay loop within a frosty landscape.

The core gameplay of Ice Catch Fishing is built around an automated oscillation mechanic. The golden fish swings back and forth in a continuous left-to-right horizontal arc above the target. The player's primary interaction is to tap the screen at the exact moment the swinging fish aligns with the center of the ice hole. Upon the player's input, the fish is released from the rope and falls toward the snow. Success is defined by a clean landing inside the hole; if the object misses the target or lands on the surrounding snow, the session immediately concludes.

Challenge progression is a key pillar of the experience. Each successful catch advances the player to a new level, where the oscillation speed of the rope increases, requiring sharper reflexes and better predictive timing. The system maintains a continuous count of successful catches. This result is only committed to the Records section if the final score is greater than zero. Ice Catch Fishing ensures data persistence by saving the highest achieved score even if the player exits to the main menu or closes the application entirely.

Technical reliability is supported by an integrated auto-pause system. If the user minimizes the application or switches to another task, the game logic instantly triggers a pause state and displays a dedicated UI window. To resume the fishing session, the player must manually dismiss this window. This conceptual project offers a streamlined experience focused on the rhythm of the swing and the precision of the drop, creating a balanced challenge of escalating difficulty in a calm, wintry setting.
