Seems good so far, I'm in the 2nd "world" (beyond stage 250). This unlocks new possible companions, which certain combinations have a formation bonus. Will keep playing for the time being. Just wish beers for summoning companions were a bit faster to acquire. I thought it was every 5th stage or so, but maybe it has to be within so many of my highest stage.

Offline progression doesn't seem to work, upgrades are plain and fairly boring, and notable power is locked behind a gacha system. Not great.

I got progress locked. I need more beer to buy more heroes, so I can ascend them and increase my level. The only way I can get more beer is by increasing my max level. I can't increase my max level without more beer, because I bought all the gold-purchasable upgrades. I need to increase my max level to get more beer.
