High quality sampled piano plus midi sounds.
Listen feature to compare the question to all possible responses in order to find and understand the right answer.
Helps to associate intervals with common melodies to make them easier to learn and remember.
Extensive options including tempo, instrument, note velocity, pitch range, rhythm plus responses to correct and incorrect answers. Very customisable questions - from a phrase using eg only perfect 4ths and 5ths to a cluster using eg Dorian on F#.
Continuous Play - repeat question a set number of times then display the answer before moving on to the next one. Optional text to speech for announcing the root note and answers. Basic speech recognition for entirely hands free use.
Recent changes: v4.83 Added option to transpose sounding notes so you can play the written note on instruments that are not in concert pitch.
Added headings to Options screen and Layout and Fonts screen - plus improved the order of items on these two screens.
Updated translations - especially for Português Brasil. Thank you very much for contributing translations and sorry this update took so long!

★★★★★
Excellent Used the free version but felt this deserved the very reasonable fee. A piano keyboard and/or fretboard to guess the intervals with would be icing on the cake, but otherwise a very useful, feature filled app - cheers dev :-)

I've only scratched the surface of this app, but this is already one of my favorite ear training apps. I use it to practice melodic dictation in "phrase" mode. What sets this ear trainer apart of many others is the ability to set note durations (whole notes, half, quarter, etc), making the examples sound more rhythmic and melodic. The only thing I'd like to be able to do is review a whole phrase after answering correctly (if there's a way to do it, I haven't figured it out). The app immediately presents the next phrase after correctly answering the whole phrase, instead of allowing for review before moving on. Other than that, as a whole I find this app very helpful for my ear training. I'm trying to learn how to notate music more easily, so it might be cool if there was an option to answer the rhythmic part of the phrases played... but I guess that would be a whole other app because this is targeted toward interval recognition and not rhythm recognition.
