Preppy is a behavioural interview coach that runs from your phone. Answer real questions, get asked follow-ups like a real interviewer would, and receive a clear, specific score on every answer — so you walk into the room having already had the conversation once.
No account. No subscription. You bring your own AI key and deal directly with your provider.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Get a question. Preppy draws from a bank of behavioural questions written by people, not generated on the fly, and tailors the framing to your role and level. 2. Answer by typing. The interviewer reads your answer and asks up to two follow-ups — probing for the specifics, the numbers, and your actual part in the story, exactly like a real panel. 3. Get your Scorecard. Every answer is scored 1–5 on three things that decide real interviews, with written strengths and concrete improvements.
WHAT YOU GET SCORED ON
• Structure — is your answer a complete, well-shaped story (Situation, Task, Action, Result)? • Substance — is it specific, quantified, and clearly YOUR contribution? • Reflection — do you show what you learned?
You get a plain-language verdict, one to three genuine strengths, and one to three things to work on. No vague "good job" — feedback you can actually act on before the next question.
THREE WAYS TO PRACTISE
• Random — one question from any theme, for a quick five minutes. • Themed — pick a theme and go deep: Challenges, Mistakes & Failures, Work You Loved, Leadership, Conflict, or In Hindsight. • Full Interview — one question per theme, back to back, for a proper mock.
SEE YOURSELF IMPROVE
Every interview is saved to your History with its overall score. The Progress view shows your trend over time and tells you which dimension is your strongest and which needs the most work — so you know exactly what to practise next.
NO ACCOUNT, NO MIDDLEMAN
Preppy has no server of its own and nothing to sign up for. Your interview history and scores are stored on your device. When you practise, your answers go straight to the AI provider you chose to run the interview and the scoring — they don't pass through us, because there's no "us" in the middle.
BRING YOUR OWN AI KEY
Preppy uses your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key, which you connect once when you start. That means:
• You pay your AI provider directly for what you use — with no subscription and no markup from us. • Your key is kept in your device's secure keychain and is never sent to us. • The app itself is completely free.
You'll need a key from OpenAI or Anthropic to use Preppy. If you don't have one yet, both take a couple of minutes to set up, and Preppy walks you through it.
