invi Messages

★★★★★ This app is decent. It does seems to work as a instant messaging app as well as long as another android user has the app downloaded as well. But it does have SMS/MMS capabilities also. What i don't like much is that if you're a verizon user and are trying to send a file, MMS, etc, if it's over their 1.2MB limit, it sends you a link instead of the actual MMS to download. Not sure why this app sends a link when other messaging apps just downgrade the file size? Also, the screen shots on this page show customization LED, backgrounds, etc. I don't need any of these options offered in the main settings of this app but they are in each contact setting. I'd like to see this option in the main settings so i can apply the theme to all contacts. Not just individual contacts. Also, would like to be able change the color of the LED light as other messaging apps allow so i can have a certain color for messages that is different from other notifications. Also, maybe add in some controls for adjusting font sizes and maybe a few different styles of chat bubbles.

★★★★★ This messaging app has replaced any messaging app that I've used recently I can't find anything better, I love the awesome bar and the features it has makes it very unique compared to boring messaging apps that all do the same thing. Using this app makes me want to text people especially if I could invite them to use it. I'd try to ignore some comments telling you to remove features, it works well with your app and gives it a sense of fun in replying, especially when it gives suggested memes/quotes. All around an underrated app and would love to see more from it. Cons- I wish there was an album section in your messages to go back to see what others have sent to you via MMS, not a necessity but I think it would give invi more potential. The popup notification works amazing but if I press outside the box I can't do anything, I'm forced to reply or swipe the notification away and sometimes I don't want to reply at the moment but I want the popup to remain there just until I finish what I'm reading or doing. I wouldn't say this is a con but when making a call from it, it prompts me to press the call button again from my default call menu. I don't know why it does that maybe because it adds the +1 automatically I'm not sure but it isn't a problem just slightly annoying when trying to make a quick call if I'm on my message screen. As a suggestion for the other person's availability status, if they reply via popup window it should say they were active or something because if I reply through popup only it will say I am not in chat and I haven't been for however long I wasn't in the actual app.

★★☆☆☆ Invi has been my main messaging app and it was great when I first installed it around a year ago. There was so much going for it too. Great features, great support, great UI. Sadly one feature after another started failing: Messages don't always arrive to the recipient nor do I receive all the messages, especially MMS. Gifs and other images disappeared, though they are back now, and search still doesn't work. Support is pretty much non existent. I use to receive a reply usually the same day from Invi staff and now they don't answer support texts and there hasn't been an update for over six months! That's crazy. I know that they are a small Dev team but the difference is really noticable since last Fall (2017) forward. I hope they get their issues figured out otherwise this app is a hard pass.

★★☆☆☆ 1) The UI is cluttered and clunky at the bottom where you will find unnecessary features out in the open. 2) Something as simple as notification tones specific to contacts doesn't even work. I still get the tone I set as 'default' for everyone. 3) If you can live without a tiny few less visual features (that are clunky or don't work) then the Messages app by Google is much better than this. (not the default installed one)

★★☆☆☆ App is nice... Except unread messages go away when you open the app, can't search for gifs, and just still all around a little bugs here and there. This app has potential.
