IsoHarp3 is a real musical instrument for your phone or tablet. Built on a Jankó-style isomorphic layout, it turns your screen into a fully playable chromatic instrument that responds to every finger simultaneously. The bigger the screen, the better it gets — tablet players get a wide, expansive grid that's genuinely comfortable to play with both hands.
The isomorphic advantage
On a standard piano keyboard, every key looks the same but every scale and chord has a different shape. On IsoHarp3, every scale and chord has the same shape in every key. Learn a minor pentatonic once and you can play it in all 12 keys without thinking. The layout rewards practice in a way that traditional instruments simply can't.
True multi-touch
Every finger is tracked independently. Play a chord with four fingers while a fifth carries the melody. Slide between notes for expressive glides. The engine supports up to ten simultaneous voices limited only by your device's screen hardware. Spatial stereo panning Notes played on the left side of the screen sound in your left ear. Notes on the right sound in your right. Put on headphones and the music surrounds you. Colour-coded at a glance Every pitch class has its own colour across the entire grid. C is always red, G is always cyan, B is always blue. The colours make scales, chords, and intervals immediately visible — a second musical language that develops naturally as you play.
