IVONA Text-to-Speech HQ

★★★★★ Actually reads everything. For a free app, this is pretty good because it actually read every word (unless it was very unusual/rare), unlike the Cereproc Hannah voice that I purchased that would frequently spell out common words. I just wish they allowed more english voices (such as Ivona Salli) at a reasonable price. You have to go to the Ivona website to purchase more voices and they're not cheap. I would have given it 5 Stars if they allowed that.

★★☆☆☆ This used to be the best TTS engine, hands down. I used it a lot in an AAC app to communicate with others, since I have a condition that frequently prevents me from speaking myself. None of the other TTS apps/voices available are really suitable for heavy, every day conversational use. None of them can even manage something as simple as causing the voice to rise at the end of questions (ie, they pronounce "you know." and "you know?") exactly the same. This one was great. But now you've taken down Kendra, the only female US voice available. So now I literally cannot use this app. There is no voice available to me. In removing Kendra, you've literally taken away my voice - the voice I and those around me have come to know as my own when my condition makes me unable to speak. This is extremely disheartening, to say the least. I've had to switch to a different engine with an inferior voice no one is familiar with, which cannot pronounce things as correctly as Ivona. *Please* bring Kendra back, if possible. If not, at least give us another US female voice so that I can take advantage of the Ivona engine's superior programming once again. Please. It would mean the world to me.

★★☆☆☆ Does not work with Android 6.0 and since Amazon bought the whole company it will probably never be so. Exit for the best TTS voices ever made, I will miss Ivona on my devices.
