This app is one of the best for learning Japanese. It includes high-quality native Japanese audio, and the cards are organized perfectly to optimize learning Japanese using easy and bite-sized sentences. The app layout and design is well-thought-out and is easy to navigate and understand. The biggest selling point of the Jalup system is the creator Adam. I have the utmost respect for him as he has supported the app through many years and has helped thousands of Japanese learners - including me.

The android version of the Jalup app is far from complete yet as there are still a bunch of missing features compared to the IOS version. The content ported from the original Anki versions however are already up to advanced level and will continue to be worked on until complete. In my opinion, the work that went into the content is absolutely worth the price of the maximum package. Just the card linking feature alone is truly useful and convenient, and you won't really find it anywhere else, especially in things that you can get on the internet for free. The cards are true i+1 learning and a lot of work went into them. Do you need this app/content to be fluent in Japanese? Probably not. People have become fluent in Japanese even before Anki. Will it make reaching that goal much easier than it would otherwise be? Definitely yes.

I tried the app. Things seemed alright, but with every learning app, the content is important. When you push the purchase button, that is where the surprise is. The deck prices to purchase are absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! Each deck is 13,100 yen, or the maximum package is 32,600 yen. Those prices are ridiculous. Why would someone want to invest their time in this app only to find out higher levels are priced like that? Reconsider your pricing, then the review gets reconsidered. But seriously, look at those prices.

I'll start by saying I like this app, it's content and they way it teaches it. However, the pricing is outrageous. There are several comparable (but arguably worse)products that are completely free to use. Even other premium products are close to half the price to this one. Some other premium options are usable in their free option, Jalup is not viable for long term use in its free state. If you're going to shell out more than 100 dollars on a learning app make sure you research all your options.

The paywall is enormous, such a shame, this could've been a much more popular app if it wasn't so expensive. I agree with smb's comparison (on a forum) of this app: imagine if a movie director charged you $200 to watch his movie because it cost a lot for production, the staff, and also the movie is unique. It just doesn't make sense, I'm sorry.
