This is a great app that has made chanting Japji possible whereas before it seemed impossible because all the Japji recordings I'd previously been able to find went just way too fast for me (and most people I know who try to chant Japji) to keep up with. I love the simplicity and usability of this app. The only thing I find difficult, is the way Gurmukhi is transliterated. To me it looks like the main purpose of Gurmukhi transliteration is to avoid looking like Sanskrit transliteration, which is readable and has rules, which when followed, mean you can chant along. Gurmukhi transliteration is a turn off for many people who sincerely want to learn to chant in the language. It is complex, random, full of vowels where none are pronounced, and not showing vowels where they are pronounced. Where 'ai' is written, it could be pronounced three different ways. This is unnecessary. It would be helpful if the writing matched the pronunciation, and if it was done in such a way that there could be a key to guide the reader as to how certain letters put together should be pronounced. This may not be the responsibility of the great people who have provided us with this beautiful app but more people may use this app if the transliteration was improved. Thank you!

Thank you for this free tool. Sat Nam Wahe Guru Ji
★★☆☆☆
While the audio is playing, the line that is highlighted is orange against a light background. It's a good concept, but no matter how I adjust the display, the orange is just too difficult to read. I will still need to read from my book while the ap plays. Thank you, anyway! The audio is beautiful.
