El Chavo del Ocho (Chaves in Brazil and Angola) is a series of Mexican television situation comedy created and Roberto Gómez Bolaños starring and produced by Televisión Independiente de Mexico (later Televisa) and first shown in June 20 1971 on Channel 8.1 recounts the experiences of a group of people who live in a village where keys interact with friends causing misunderstandings and arguments between neighbors, usually a comic tone. The script came from a skit written by Bolaños, where a poor child of eight discussed with a balloon salesman in a parque.4 He gave importance to the development of the characters, to which distinct personalities were distributed. From the beginning, its creator realized that the show would be aimed at adults, not the children, even when dealing with adults playing children.1 The main cast consists of Roberto Bolaños, María Antonieta de las Nieves, Ramón Valdés, Florinda Meza, Carlos Villagrán, Edgar Vivar, Rubén Aguirre, Angelines Fernandez, Horacio Gómez and Raúl Padilla.5
