App is fairly nice and good way to learn the uke. Teacher is chill which is good. It is on the pricier side, and I'm not sure if there is enough lessons for like a year cost. Maybe best to do a month. For learning, I hope they add tab reading, more finger picking and on the videos the finger number for chords. Also wish you could use the uke points to unlock a virtual Kala uke or stickers to put on it, so it's sorta fun instead of arbitrary points.

My ukulele was a COVID purchase and has been kind of collecting dust since then. I haven't had the time or money for formal classes, so I used random YouTube videos and websites to try and learn, with minimal success. I love this app because it includes structured lessons that help me build new skills. I'm learning rather than guessing. Practicing with the videos is engaging rather than frustrating. I love their fake band and the practice songs, which are funny and catchy. Worth the money!

Best Learning App EVER! I've tried for a couple of years to learn to play Ukulele on my own through YouTube videos, and they taught me some good things, but the KALA app really teaches me well, as I should be taught. It has excellent bells and whistles, and the Strum videos and Tempo control are extremely helpful, along with all the other features. I don't even mind playing all the children's songs until I get them solid. I'm also glad there are plenty of modern songs available.

When I first downloaded this app it was great. I bought an annual subscription, and have a 79-day streak. The last update really ruined the app. It is so buggy I can't use it. I can't change any of the settings in the song interface, it freezes randomly mid-exercise, it regularly includes chords I haven't learned in the daily practice songs, and they removed my two favorite songs to play! It's so frustrating that I just use the app to tune now. Cancelling the subscription.

The free version doesn't have much value. Even what I can see some if the practice material does a poor job explaining what you should be doing, for example strumming practice or tempo. I tried upgrading, but I couldn't get past the password. I tried I forgot my password and all it does is take me to Google recovery, which does nothing. It's a loop of bad password, forgot password, Google recovery, back to bad password. I'm going to Uninstall it and look for an alternative app.

This app barely worked. It did not hear my chords very well, menus opened on the screen that could not be closed, I could not get credit for practice, and the Songs and features appear to be locked until you complete a basic lesson set. That's not bad if I was totally new, but I'm not. It crashed once and I restarted it to see the same issues again. I'm very disappointed, but will try again later this week
