Kiddo Safe: Parental Control

Kiddo Safe is a parental control app for your kid's Android phone or tablet. You set the rules right on their phone, behind your parent PIN: block apps and adult websites, switch off YouTube Shorts, and set time limits and a bedtime. No second phone and no sign-up.

Kip, our friendly shield buddy, does the guarding. When something is blocked, Kip tells your kid why in kind, simple words, so there's less arguing and no scolding.

HOW IT WORKS
Install Kiddo Safe on your kid's phone and answer a few questions about what worries you most. In about 6 minutes it builds a plan and switches each protection on with you, step by step. After that, you manage everything on your kid's phone with your PIN. There's no parent app for your own phone, and each phone is set up for one kid.

APP CONTROL
• Only apps I choose: a kids home screen with just the apps you allow
• Block apps I choose: the normal phone, minus the apps you block
• New apps need my OK: anything newly installed waits for your PIN
• Phone and Messages always work

WEBSITES AND VIDEOS
• Adult content filter (Premium): covers porn and other adult pages in every browser, and in the browsers inside apps like Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and Snapchat
• Sites and keywords: block the websites and words you choose
• Safe DNS: a family-safe DNS that keeps adult sites out of every app
• Short videos: block YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and WhatsApp Status while regular videos keep working
• YouTube channels: only the channels you add

SCREEN TIME AND BEDTIME
• Time limits (Premium): a daily limit for each app, fresh every midnight, with friendly heads-ups as the time runs low
• When time's up, a grown-up can add 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour with the PIN
• Bedtime (Premium): the phone rests every night. Calls and the night apps you pick keep working, and Settings and app installs stay locked
• Screen time: how long each app was used each day, from Android's own usage records. Your kid can see their own time too

HARD TO GET AROUND
• Uninstall protection (Premium): Kiddo Safe can't be deleted, switched off or force-stopped without your PIN
• Protection check-up: tells you if anything needs fixing, and how
• Blocked lately: what Kiddo Safe stopped in the last 7 days

FOR EMERGENCIES
• SOS button: three taps on the kids home screen send a WhatsApp message to your number
• Check-ins (Premium): a screenshot, a one-minute audio clip and the location every 30 minutes for up to 3 days, kept on the phone, with a notification your kid can see

FREE AND PREMIUM
Free: app control (up to 5 apps), sites and keywords (5 each), short videos, YouTube channels, Safe DNS, new-app approval, SOS and screen time.
Premium adds the adult content filter, time limits, bedtime, uninstall protection and check-ins, and removes the 5-item limits. Monthly, 6-month and yearly plans through Google Play.

YOUR PRIVACY
Screen time, check-ins and the pages Kiddo Safe checks stay on your kid's phone. No ads, and we never sell data.

PERMISSIONS
Kiddo Safe uses Android's Accessibility Service to see which app is open so it can block the apps you chose, to read web addresses, page titles and words on web pages so it can cover adult pages, to press Back on the short-video feeds you blocked, and to keep itself from being switched off when Uninstall protection is on. Device admin is used for Uninstall protection, and Usage access for screen time and time limits. You choose each permission during setup.
