Knife Sharpening Angle Meter

Angle of Knife is a knife sharpening app that turns your phone into a real sharpening angle meter. Lay it on the blade, read the exact sharpening angle, and keep every knife tracked — no guesswork, no ruined edges.

Whether you sharpen on a whetstone by hand, use a guided rod, or run a sharpening machine, Angle of Knife keeps every knife sharpening angle honest and repeatable.

KEY FEATURES

• Angle meter — live knife sharpening angle, updated in real time as you move the blade
• Whetstone guide — an audio beep when your blade hits the target angle, so you can keep your eyes on the stone
• Works for any blade — whetstone, sharpening stone, guided rod, belt sharpener, bench grinder, honing rod
• Beyond knives — check the sharpening angle on an axe, chisel, plane iron, scissors, chainsaw chain, drill bit, or lawn mower blade
• Blade log — save every knife with its angle, steel, photo, and full sharpening history
• Presets for chef's knife, pocket knife, hunting knife, kitchen utility knife, fruit & vegetable knife, axe, and more
• Metric and imperial, 8 languages

WHAT ANGLE SHOULD YOU SHARPEN A KNIFE?

Most kitchen knives like a 15–20° edge angle per side; pocket and hunting knives hold up better at 20–25°; an axe or cleaver wants more. If you've ever searched for a sharpening angle chart or wondered how many degrees your bevel should be, Angle of Knife shows the live angle while you sharpen — no chart, no guessing.

WHO IT'S FOR

• Home cooks who want a sharp knife without paying for pro sharpening
• Whetstone learners tired of guessing the blade angle
• Hunters, campers, and EDC carriers who sharpen in the field
• Woodworkers sharpening chisels and plane irons to a repeatable bevel angle
• Anyone who has ever asked "is this the right sharpening angle?"

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pick your knife from the list — or add your own with a photo
2. Set the target sharpening angle (or use the preset for your knife type)
3. Lay the phone flat on the blade and start sharpening
4. The angle meter beeps and turns green when you hit the target angle
5. Every sharpening session is saved to your blade log

WHY IT WINS

Whetstone sharpening is a skill, not a mystery. The moment you can see the blade angle, everything clicks. Angle of Knife gives you that view — cheap, silent, always in your pocket. No more ruined edges, no more expensive sharpening services, no more guessing the bevel angle.
