Knitting & Crochet Row Counter

Count rows and stitches and follow your crochet patterns and knitting patterns, all on one screen.

Knitting & Crochet Row Counter is a row counter, stitch counter, crochet counter and knitting counter in one. Open a PDF, photos of a paper pattern or a pattern's web page, slide the reading line to your row, and count with a tap, the volume keys or a remote. Close the app, come back days later and pick up exactly where you left off.

Counting
• A big +1 target: tap anywhere on it to add a row. −1, undo and reset for the odd mistake.
• Several named counters per project: rows, stitches, repeats or your own.
• Counters that advance on their own, like a repeat that ends every 6 rows.
• Row reminders, such as "change color" every 10 rows, that come as you start the row.
• Parts for the front, back and sleeves, each with its row count, and a second sock or sleeve that counts from 0.
• Hands-free counting: the volume keys count while a counter is open, and so can any key on a keyboard, Bluetooth remote or page turner.
• The screen stays on while you count, and the counter comes back over the lock screen.

Your crochet and knitting patterns
• PDF crochet patterns and knitting patterns from your files, Google Drive or the share sheet.
• Paper patterns: take photos with the camera or pick them from your gallery.
• Web patterns: save a pattern's web address and open it beside your counters. The app keeps the address, not a copy of the page.
• A reading line that marks your row, in the color and thickness you like. Each page keeps its own.

Free patterns and tools
• 48 free crochet patterns and knitting patterns from independent designers, each opening on the designer's own page.
• Stitch dictionary: American and British crochet and knitting stitch names with drawings. Search "dc" and see both.
• Increase or decrease evenly across a row, and a hook and needle size chart.
• Reminders on the days and at the time you choose, and a nudge when a project has waited too long. You pick them, and you can turn them off.

Your projects
• Notes, progress photos and a timer for the time you spend.
• Tutorial video links, for the whole project or pinned to a row.
• A yarn color for each project, so you find it at a glance.
• Duplicate a project, mark it finished, and keep finished ones out of the way.

Pro tools
Pro is one payment, with no subscription. It brings unlimited projects (Free has 3, finished ones included) and these tools:
• Linked chart mode: +1 moves the reading line and the row count together, so they never drift apart.
• Writing on patterns: highlight lines, strike through finished rows, pin notes to the page, and share a copy with your notes.
• Size highlighter: lights up your size in every "S (M, L, XL)" group (Android 15 and later, on PDFs with text).
• Gauge calculator: new stitch and row counts when your gauge differs from the pattern's.
• Yarn amount calculator: how much yarn your project needs.
• Stash: your yarn with label photos, your crochet hooks and knitting needles, picked for each project.
• Home-screen widget: +1 on a counter without opening the app.
• Three decorative themes.

Rather not buy Pro yet? On a locked tool, watch a short video ad to use that one tool for 5 minutes. Ads play only when you choose to watch one, and never while you count.

Easy on the eyes
• Light, dark, true black and two high-contrast themes, for everyone.
• Text follows your phone's font size, and every control is labeled for TalkBack.
• Layouts for phones and tablets. On a tablet, your project opens beside the list.

Your work stays yours
• No account and no sign-up. Your projects and patterns are stored on your phone.
• Android's own backup keeps your projects and settings, and Export everything saves all of it, patterns included, to one file you can restore on another phone.
