KnowledgeBase Lite: Mind Map

The infinite mind map: millions of connected ideas

Conventional mind mapping apps hit their limits at 50 to 100 nodes and force you into a rigid tree structure. The InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder is a true knowledge network for personal knowledge management and your digital “second brain”: any node can be linked to any other and every relationship carries its own label.

★ What the Lite edition does
Lite includes every feature of the full version – no time limit, no ads. The only difference: you work with exactly one knowledge base. It holds millions of items; only the full version manages several database files side by side.

★ Spectacular 3D view
Experience your knowledge in space: the interactive 3D view arranges your network in a planetarium layout. Fly from node to node with animated camera moves, or let presentation mode carry you through a guided tour.

★ Whiteboard, mind map & kanban in one app
Start out free-form in whiteboard mode: ideas, notes and tasks float loosely on an infinite canvas. Later on, arrange them as a classic mind map – or as a kanban and scrum board for projects and tasks.

★ Every kind of diagram, tidied up automatically
Connect nodes by drag and drop, then label and weight every relationship. One click sorts the whole network radially, symmetrically, hierarchically or as a table. That is how mind maps, concept maps, flowcharts, org charts, family trees and even mathematical formulas (LaTeX) come together.

★ Notes, rich text & attachments
Every node holds far more than a title: formatted notes, tables, checklists and cross-references. Attach PDFs, Word and Excel files, images or web links directly – with previews.

★ Full-text search that reaches into your documents
The lightning-fast search covers not only the titles of your nodes, but the text content of every attached document.

★ Wikipedia, Wikidata & Obsidian import
Search Wikipedia or Wikidata straight from the app and import entire articles along with their semantic relations as a finished mind map. From your own text, the analysis extracts keywords for brainstorming. Obsidian vaults can be imported too.

★ AI support for automatic diagrams
Let modern AI models expand your diagrams, summarize text or insert entire structures – thanks to full support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

★ Categories, tags & live filters
Group nodes by color and topic, and instantly hide the branches you do not need right now.

★ Open formats
Export and import your knowledge network or sub-branches as JSON, XML, CSV, text document, image or 3D model.

Also included:

• Flashcard trainer: the app automatically generates flashcards and cloze tests from your mind maps for studying at school and university (spaced repetition).

• Flowcharts from pseudocode: write simple logic text and the app draws the flowchart.

• History that lasts: up to 200 undo steps – even after restarting the app.

• Your data stays local: your knowledge base is stored as a fast SQLite file (.kdb) on your device instead of in someone else's cloud. No account, no forced cloud, no tracking. You only need the internet for the optional Wikipedia/Wikidata import and for AI support.

• On all your devices: share your .kdb file through the cloud storage of your choice with the editions for Windows, iOS, macOS and the browser.

• Made for trying it out: no time limit, no ads, no subscription. To keep several knowledge bases side by side, move up to the full version “InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder” – your .kdb file comes with you.
