Update - August 2026 FINALLY the new update is SO much better 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 original review - winter 2025 I think? LOVE Kobo plus but the app is so slow it's killing me. It will hardly ever load "My Books" page on the first try. It will sit trying to load for literally minutes. Close out, try again, sometimes it works. Browsing to choose new books works better, the home screen loads fine but the My Books tab takes FORVER.

Love kobo books! Easy app to use, lots of kobos plus material to read. When it starts to be slow and unresponsive you do have to clear your cache/data in the app now and again, and I always delete the books after reading, just to keep the app running smoothly, I read a lot!

Just moved from Kindle to Kobo, and it all seemed great. Then I got a data usage warning. Kobo has used 500Mb in 2 weeks! I've read 2 books in that time. What on earth is it doing? The app is unusable like this.

it's so slow to download books. it's easy to. Use but the amount of time it takes to load the store and to download and listen or read is RIDICULOUS.

I did a trial subscription. It took a little too much work to browse audiobook genres. The ad said "no credits needed" then I look and see you need a *credit* to listen to anything or pay full price for the book. Canceling was crazy hard. I ended up having to delete my account because I did not have a purchase receipt. It was a *trial* subscription all in all not worth the time or energy. So many other apps that work better.
