Kosu: Photo Metadata Remover

Your photos say more than you think.

A photo can quietly carry where it was taken, when, and on which device. Send the original, and that information can travel with it. Kosu removes it first, so you share only the picture.

SEE WHAT'S INSIDE
Open a photo or video and check its metadata before you clean it: device model, software, date, camera settings and AI tags.

REMOVE IT IN ONE TAP
Kosu strips GPS location, EXIF, XMP, IPTC, device details, timestamps, AI-generation tags and C2PA data. Every cleaned file is checked again, and a file that still contains sensitive tags is never passed on as clean.

CLEAN RIGHT FROM THE SHARE MENU
Share a photo to Kosu from your gallery or any other app. It cleans the file and reopens the share menu, so you can send it where you meant to.

PHOTOS AND VIDEOS, IN BULK
Clean many files at once, or a whole folder. A long queue keeps running in the background. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, MP4 and MOV. Files Kosu can't clean safely, such as GIF and RAW, are skipped with a warning.

YOU CHOOSE WHAT TO KEEP
Keep dates or camera settings when you need them, or keep an approximate location and date instead of the exact ones. Photo rotation is preserved. Your original files are not changed.

NOTHING EVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Kosu has no internet permission, so it can't upload your files. It also asks for no location, storage or camera access, and it has no ads, accounts or trackers. Its only permissions are for showing cleaning progress in a notification, and cleaning works even if you decline.

Available in 11 languages.

Good to know: Kosu removes metadata, not what's visible in the picture. Faces, street signs and other details in the image stay as they are. For HEIC and AVIF files, the options to keep dates and camera settings don't apply.
