Lanelo: 4K Video Player & TV

Lanelo is an offline HD video player and music player for Android phones, tablets and Android TV. It plays almost every format, from MKV, MP4 and AVI to 4K HDR and FLAC, with subtitles, no ads and no account.

Playing your own videos and music is free, with no ads and no time limit. Lanelo Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription (the yearly plan starts with a 7-day trial) or a one-time lifetime purchase, unlocks everything marked (Pro) below. Your files stay on your device.

PLAYS ALMOST ANY FORMAT, IN 4K AND HDR
A hybrid engine pairs Android's own Media3 with libmpv, FFmpeg and libplacebo, so common files take the fast hardware path and everything else still plays: MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, WebM, TS, FLAC, OPUS, DSD and more. A 4K HDR video player with hardware decoding, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision with tone-mapping, passthrough where your display supports it, and AV1 through dav1d. For your own files it is a fully offline video player and MKV player: no internet needed.

A VIDEO PLAYER WITH SUBTITLES DONE PROPERLY
Embedded and external subtitles in SRT, ASS/SSA and VTT, rendered with libass so styled subtitles look the way their author intended. (Pro) Adjust timing, size, color and outline, and search and download subtitles from OpenSubtitles inside the player. (Pro) AI subtitle generator: when a video has no subtitles in your language, Lanelo can transcribe it on your device with Whisper AI and translate the result, entirely offline. Nothing is uploaded.

MADE FOR ANDROID TV
A video player for Android TV and Google TV, with a 10-foot interface built for the remote: a navigation rail, large cards and clear focus everywhere. The D-pad center button pauses and resumes, left and right seek, and Back takes you home. On Google TV, films you have not finished appear in the Watch Next row.

YOUR LIBRARY, YOUR WAY
Folders, videos and music in one place, with search, sort, grid or list. Continue watching picks up every file exactly where you stopped and remembers the audio and subtitle track you chose. (Pro) Playlists and a drag-to-reorder queue. (Pro) A video locker: hide private videos and music in an encrypted vault, locked with a passphrase and invisible to other apps.

A PLAYER THAT DOES MORE (Pro)
Swipe gestures for brightness, volume and seeking, playback speed, A-B repeat, chapters, bookmarks, sleep timer, picture-in-picture, frame capture, picture filters with custom GLSL shaders, and color palettes including Material You.

A REAL MUSIC PLAYER TOO
An offline MP3 and FLAC music player with album art, background playback with lock-screen and notification controls, and a Now Playing screen that takes its colors from the artwork. (Pro) A five-band equalizer with presets, audio effects, synced lyrics and a live visualizer.

NETWORK STREAMING AND CAST TO TV (Pro)
Browse SMB shares and DLNA/UPnP media servers, open HTTP and HLS stream links, and cast video to a Chromecast or Google TV with Google Cast.

EXPLORE FREE CONTENT
Public-domain films, documentaries, classic TV and old-time radio from the Internet Archive, Creative Commons video from PeerTube and Wikimedia Commons, audiobooks from LibriVox, live radio from Radio Browser and podcasts from Podcast Index. Free to watch and listen to, no account needed.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No ads, no advertising ID, no crash reporting and no account. Lanelo has no server of its own and sends us nothing. It goes online for the features you use, such as a subtitle search, a stream you open or a source you browse in Explore, and Google components inside the app send Google their own diagnostic data, as the privacy policy explains.

In English, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian and Arabic, with full TalkBack support and every control reachable from a keyboard or remote.
