Lead Sheet Coach

Learn to make your own jazz piano choices through Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise.

Designed for tablet users who can already read music and are new to jazz, Lead Sheet Coach guides you through 13 lessons, from chord symbols and the song's form toward comping and improvisation from a lead sheet. Softly lessons and app guidance support English and Korean using built-in, authored text, without a translation service.

Study major and minor harmony, ii–V–I progressions, voicings, optional tensions, scales, swing, rhythmic variation and improvisation within the same tune. Learn how your choices change in solo piano, with a bassist, and when accompanying another soloist.

Keep the score beside the current task and visual explanations. Open an optional reference when you need help. Listen to sampled grand-piano examples, play a variation, then close the reference and choose your own target notes, rhythm or rests in the same passage. First-use guidance shows where the actual controls are.

Practice with a metronome and fixed backing. Legacy score-import and free-practice tools are currently available in Korean; these tools also let you connect your own local audio or an optional YouTube video. Fixed backing does not listen or respond to your playing. The app does not automatically grade your piano performance.

Made for Android tablets, with a landscape lesson layout and system back navigation. No login is required. Core lessons work offline. This version does not request microphone access or offer MIDI input.

YouTube connects only after your consent. Google may process your IP address, approximate location, identifiers, video interactions and diagnostics, and may show advertisements. Scores and local audio are not sent to YouTube.

Imported MusicXML/MXL/XML files and practice records stay on your device. Importing another tune does not create an expert-authored course for it. Use scores you have permission to use. The app does not include commercial textbooks, Real Book, fake book or iReal Pro files.
