Description
The Consortium Trust prioritises broad and balanced learning experiences, ensuring that all pupils receive a well sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum.
In the classroom Learning Pi enhances learning by embedding the Trust’s Drivers and Learning Characteristics throughout the curriculum.
At home and during extended school, Learning Pi enhances learning. Well planned learning activities, focused on the Trust’s Drivers, supports pupils’ Personal and Creative Development as well as meaningful Engagement in the Community.
Learning activities are planned to support an individual’s personal development in each of the 18 Learning Characteristics.
Activities focus on specific developmental areas and are assigned by an adult at school. The platform will automatically let a pupil know which learning activity has been assigned to them by reviewing progress on their Pi.
Pupils and families are also able to view their current assessments in Reading, Writing, Maths and Science.
Once an activity is completed pupils can upload their evidence, usually a photograph and short reflection. Pupils are encouraged to reflect on the intended Learning Characteristic when uploading their evidence not just what they have done.
At school pupils are encouraged to review their Learning Pi to consider which aspects of the Drivers they might need to focus on.
Pupils will be supported to develop their Learning Characteristics both at school and at home.
Sometimes pupils need a little extra support. Learning Pi includes My Targets for pupils with additional needs and for pupils that need to focus on one or two specific areas of personal development.
My Targets are broken down in to four measurable steps. Each success is captured by a member of school staff by uploading a photograph and a short learning log.
Progress against Educational, Health and Care Plan outcomes is tracked in My Targets, building a bank of evidence for annual reviews and other professionals’ meetings.
Learning Pi has been designed to build strong links by:
