Description

La Librairie Bon Pasteur de Lomé est une œuvre de l’Archidiocèse de Lomé. Fondée en 1906 par les Pères Allemands, elle avait pour but d'approvisionner les écoles de la mission catholique en manuels et fournitures scolaires.

Le 18 août 1962, la petite boutique a été constituée en société : LIBRAIRIE CATHOLIQUE. En 1964, grâce à un don du Cardinal Doëpfner, consécrateur de son Excellence Mgr Dosseh-Anyron, une 2e librairie voit le jour à la Rue du Commerce. La même année, la Librairie Catholique devient LIBRAIRIE BON PASTEUR en reconnaissance au Cardinal Doëpfner dont la paroisse d’origine porte le nom de « Bon Pasteur ».

Plus tard en 1975, la Librairie Bon Pasteur devient une société à responsabilité limitée – SARL- et depuis 2018 SARL U.

En 2001, pour répondre aux besoins de la clientèle, après l’exposition-vente à la foire Togo 2000, un 3ème point de vente a vu le jour à Hédzranawoé en face du marché. Tout ceci pour se rapprocher de la clientèle vu que la population s’éloigne peu à peu du centre-ville vers les périphéries.

En novembre 2009, à l’ouverture de l’université catholique UCAO-UUT, la librairie s’est élargie par un 4ème point de vente à Sanguéra afin de permettre aux étudiants d’avoir sur place les ouvrages dont ils auront besoin. Mais, les résultats n’ont pas répondu à nos attentes et donc en août 2011, la librairie a été ramenée au niveau d’Adidogomé non loin du camp militaire, à côté de Moov Adidogomé et non loin de la paroisse Marie Mère du Rédempteur.
