With the Life Field Recorder companion app, you can capture a moment from your favourite spot in the woods, or the ignition from a car. You can explore rhythmic sounds from a pedestrian crossing or different kitchen appliances. Try something different and explore underwater sounds. Capture walking on gravel. Anything can become a beat. The recordings made by the Life Field Recorder are automatically synced and instantly available in the Life by XLN Audio plugin (sold separately) where you can create beats. Recording, importing, slicing and sorting audio slices into beats is fully automated – so you can focus on capturing moments with the and creating beats. You can also import audio or video directly into the Life Field Recorder from your camera roll to create beats from the moments you already cherish.

AWESOME!!! This is an incredible app, and I'm having a blast getting creative, sampling new sounds. Also, The LIFE plugin by XLN Audio is truly incredible for making music. XLN Audio has never let me down with their state-of-the-art plug-ins for music production.

Useful app companion to the DAW plugin / standalone LIFE app. To get 5 stars needs some additional recording management options - auto naming files with date-time stamps would be useful instead of just "Untitled ##" indexing with the same file name, or provide some batch renaming utilities. Options for longer audio clips would be nice, (presumably that would require the main Life app to also support them).

Outstanding sampler! Very easy to use. I just need to discipline myself to use it more frequently by always listening for the most unusual sounds. So, in addition to listening for guidance from the Lord, I am listening for sounds I can use in my music productions. A feature that would be incredible, is having the ability to change the frequency, built into the app. How amazing would that be? Seek the Highest Holy God, Jesus Christ, right now! If I'm not mistaken, mankind has had 6000 years!

Should be a valuable part of the paid xln Life app, but this android app just doesn't work. One bug after another. Doesn't save the audio I record at random. Random error messages or audio disappears on save. There is no way to store the file locally when cloud upload fails, either. Which happens constantly. Edit: XLN support has been responsive and is working on a fix. Will update once this is updated.

The app is promising but right now it has a serious flaw - it requires connectivity before you can start recording. If you're in a low (or no) connectivity area, you will stare at the loading screen while the thing you wanted to record plays itself out.
