Un rivoluzionario sistema di mobilità sostenibile a Isola del Giglio, Monte Argentario ed Orbetello offre a turisti e residenti la possibilità di spostarsi in modo innovativo, alternativo ed ecocompatibile.

Finanziato dalla Commissione europea attraverso il programma LIFE+ 2016, il progetto pilota “Life for Silver Coast” (LSC), con un costo stimato di oltre 5 milioni di euro, porta sul territorio veicoli esclusivamente elettrici che rendono comodamente accessibili aree non servite dai mezzi pubblici.

A disposizione degli utenti in punti strategici del territorio city car, scooter e biciclette con stazioni di sharing per la ricarica ed il rilascio dei mezzi. Per il trasporto via mare e via terra, nuovi battelli e un servizio shuttle tra la stazione di Orbetello e il centro cittadino.

L’intero parco mezzi è corredato da un sistema di ricarica intelligente in grado di soddisfare le esigenze dei veicoli, adottando soluzioni di alimentazione rapida sia terrestre che acquatica.

Il nuovo sistema di mobilità intermodale, inoltre, è dotato di una rete di sensori fissi e mobili per la raccolta di dati ambientali utile a valutare lo stato di salute del territorio e i miglioramenti apportati su traffico e inquinamento.

Oltre ai comuni coinvolti, il progetto vede la partecipazione di aziende come Enel X, Green Action, Newave Italia, On – Electric Sharing Mobility, Primordial, UNeed.IT e di enti e centri di ricerca attivi nel campo trasporti e della mobilità, come l’Università di Firenze e il Polo Mobilità Sostenibile (POMOS) del Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione, Elettronica e Telecomunicazioni (DIET) della “Sapienza” Università di Roma, coordinatore del progetto.
