I recommend it to everyone interested in learning a language. The only thing not present that I think would be useful is the ability to translate and prepare a lesson from any language into the target language if you need to learn specific words in the language you're learning for example a training video from work, but it's great with the ability to import lessons from YouTube you can fit language learning into whatever your interest at the time is.

The lifetime subscription for one language, at around $220, was expensive but within 3 days after paying I'd studied over 10 hours so to me, it was worth it. After 166 days of using this app I went from 0 knowledge of Italian to Advanced 1 and am now able to watch The Sopranos in Italian dub/sub and read Fahrenheit 451 in Italian. I import movie subtitles and watch along, import books and news articles etc.

It blows my mind how cool and also how terribly buggy and amateur the polish still is on this app even after all these years. It's gotten worse. Fumigant doesn't display over the kanji and mine randomly shows, Russian, Korean etc. over the kanji, madness. Highlighting sentences is still an ungodly unusable nightmare. In the listener if you click a word quick for definition you can't return to listener, have to go back to read and click listener then find your place again. List goes on...

Bad ui, confusing controls for play voice and finding translation, annoying questions before you start and offering to sell its plans before users have a chance to use the app and annoying trial force click on first lesson, waste of time

Tried the "free trial" and I really like it, there's loads of stories for my level and I feel like I got a lot out of it. HOWEVER, I understand that when my free trial was up I would be charged for a subscription, but it defaulted to the year membership. I noticed a few days before it charged me when I went to check on another subscription. So if you want to try the free trial, cancel your subscription as soon as you do to avoid forgetting and getting charged $115

Honestly. They're forcing you to pay to fully learn the language when you can find a more similar free better version like satori reader. Also, the translations are sometimes wrong and the grammar guides are not very helpful sometimes and make no sense. Also, why are you limited to 20 LingQ's? Even if you delete them it doesn't let you learn more. It feels more like a cash grab than anything else. It'd be better if u could delete LingQ's. Ugh. The free version should have fewer restrictions.
