Tired of your phone buzzing in the middle of the night? Annoying your colleagues by having your phone blast out your ringtone at work? You need Llama!
I used Llama for a long time on my previous devices (HTC One and OnePlus One) with great results Recently when I switched to OnePlus 6T, Llama started to act up a bit. However, after researching multiple similar apps and automation apps to very less avail, I got back to tinkering with the trusted Llama app configs in conjunction with the phone settings, and lo & behold, it started to work like before when I simply kept the location services on! Later I realised that it is because in the newer versions of Android (apparently Nougat+) cell tower capture function will not work effectively without the location service being turned on (experts can correct my hypothesis). Also, contrary to popular belief, simply turning on location services does not start to drain battery, as this app doesn't actually trigger GPS based location services Many thanks again to the developer for this light weight and very useful app!
I think the developer has moved on. Dev, if you see this, please come back or open source it!!! It's not been updated in several years now It still works pretty well in Android 7, though it doesn't seem to handle the "leave area" reliably any more. I have it vibrate when it detects the WiFi at my doctor's office, and a few places like that, and since the last year or so it seems to stick in Vibrate afterward. Additionally, it doesn't always seem to "see" WiFi everywhere. I can even be connected to a wifi and it won't be listed. Not sure if it's something like newer wifi protocols my phone can see but Llama can't.
I had nothing bit great things to say UNTIL I updated to Lollipop. Now many of Llama's features don't work correctly or as they once did. Very annoying, and though it's not the app maker's fault, I can no longer give this app 5 stars. I'm once again profile app-less
had probably worked well previously on older android OS and GSM technology, my friend intro this app to me few yrs back but I have never used it until last wk. Experimented for a few days between workplace and home. doesn't automatically detect the change in phone mast, I have to quit the app then restart for it to detect the mast in that area, even when that mast had already been added to the area. This makes the app pretty useless coz the primary purpose is to detect the phone at different location AUTOmatically and perform certain actions, if I need to quit & restart every time then it is not auto anymore and defeats its most basic function. Noticed that the developer has stopped updating it since Oct 2014! the mobile phone technology in my country has already moved out of 2G to 4G+ now, going to 5G. and there had already been many version updates in Android OS since, so I guess this app is no longer relevant (at least in my country). I still give it 2 star instead of 1 because it had probably served good use to many users before, but without continuous upkeep this app is living out its usefulness.
