Description
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FOOL’S GOLD Play the authentic Lode Runner… this is the real deal!
AWARD WINNING GAMEPLAY Lode Runner Classic combines the game play and all 150 levels of the award-winning Apple II original Lode Runner with graphics and features engineered for today's advanced smartphones. The game's frantic action takes place in maze-like, static levels, where a single player dodges enemies while running and climbing to reach and claim stacks of gold. No jumping is allowed. And shooting enemies is forbidden, but you can blast blocks to access lower platforms or trap pursuing enemies. Winding your way through ever-increasing levels of complexity makes for a superior challenge, but now you can choose to play any one of the 150 levels at any time.
EXCITING NEW FEATURES Although the gameplay remains true to the original Apple II version, there are plenty of new features to enhance the experience. You can magnify the screen around the Runner, set the play speed, adjust the coloring of the art and compete for top spot on the worldwide leaderboard.
- Lode Runner Classic Features: - 150 puzzling levels – all unlocked and accessible - Two game modes – Expedition and Time Attack - New magnification effect – zoom the action around the Runner - Multiple play speeds – super slow to superfast action - Fully adjustable color palettes - Worldwide leaderboards - Multiple control schemes - Illustrated How to Play section

Love game from Apple IIe days Would be a 5 star game if the Dpad was just 4 separate buttons where my thumb could clearly be on 1 at a time. I have dropped or dug in wrong spot too many times!

Yes the UI controls leave something to be desired and yes it can crash when you restart a level BUT, the game is very well ported. It is a ton of fun to play. The pros outweigh the cons easily. Please do Lode Runner 2 and 3.

Fun, not quite the same but fun. I played this game quite extensively back in the '80s on an Apple IIe. I have routes for several levels memorized, but they don't work for this game because the gameplay is different. Most noticeable is that the "bad guys" are slower. On the original, I could run over 3 bad guys if they fell into the blasted holes one right after the other, but it was really hard to do before the first one that fell in started getting back out. This makes the game easier, though.

I love the game. I remember playing this back in the 80s on an apple 2. All this needs is controller support.

Dreadful Controls I was excited to see that the owner of the Lode Runner license had released the game in an Android version. It appears that the conversion was done by Studio Voltz, and all I can say is that someone blew it, big time. Specifically, the controls for this game are well-nigh unusable. A simple relocatable screen-overlaid joystick (as in, e.g., Terr aria) would have made this game a joy. As it is, there are three control options, all terrible. Let's examine them one by one! First, there's the D-Pad. This shrinks the size of the game screen to approximately half of its original size (by square area), in order to make room for gigantic d-pad buttons. I can barely see the game screen. Next. Second, there's the on-screen controls. Rather than using a flexible relative-to-click-position joystick, this game simply maps screen areas to joystick positions. This means that if you want to move up, you must place your finger at the top of the screen, completely obscuring the screens. Might work for people with extremely narrow fingers. Next. Third, there's the tip-screen. RRG. No, thanks. Frankly, I think it reflects quite poorly on Studio Voltz that they let this one out the door.

Not pleased, especially after paying for one of my favorite childhood games. The controls on this are absolutely awful. The D Pad would be my preference, but you can't move left unless you keep your finger held down and spin left. You should be able to simply touch left, touch right. The other setup is awful. I want a refund if I can't enjoy this game.
