Description
One of the challenges of studying Ancient Greek is to memorise its unfamiliar vocabulary, and the many forms each word can take. The most reliable way to learn this material is by constant practice, which is where Liberation Philology Ancient Greek can help.
Wherever you have your phone and a free moment, Liberation Philology Ancient Greek is ready to drill you on Ancient Greek vocabulary and grammar with a continuous multiple-choice test. Your answers are immediately confirmed or corrected, and reinforced through repetition.
• Vocabulary: 110 levels, each testing the translation of 10 words between English and Ancient Greek. Additional sections contain 220 levels of Homeric, 210 levels of New Testament vocabulary, and 110 levels based on Plato’s Apology. Interspersed among these are cumulative levels reviewing what has been learned earlier (giving a total of 733 levels).
• Nouns: Tests your ability to parse and decline all classes of Ancient Greek nouns.
• Adjectives & Pronouns: Tests your ability to parse and decline all classes of Ancient Greek adjectives & demonstrative pronouns.
• Verbs: Tests your ability to parse and conjugate a range of paradigmatic Ancient Greek verbs.

A wonderful app for language supplement Perfect for consolidation of paradigms and for learning vocabulary. Definitely worth the $4.99!

Very good vocabulary builder. Allows one to pick up and practice Greek words quickly in several different vocabularies, not just New Testament. Practicing declensions is a very nice feature! One oddity: the vocabulary lists for different units often include the same Greek with a different English gloss or the same English equivalent with a different Greek word. This much is good because it teaches one that the same Greek word can have different shades of meaning (καρδια is both 'heart" and "mind") or the same English concept can be expressed by different Greek words (several different words can all mean "to take"). Where it becomes troublesome is when the app rejects correct answers. For example: αγαθος shows up in NT unit 8 and 22 as "good" and "useful" respectively. Καλος likewise shows up as "beautiful" in one unit and "good" in 22. So, in unit 22, the app asks for "good" expecting καλος and rejects αγαθος. It is perhaps not hard to figure out when walking through each unit the first time: a wrong answer or two indicates the problem, but it is strange when reviewing and forces one to try to remember which unit expects which answer, which is useless information (even memorizing Strong's numbers would be more useful). Better glosses for these overlapping terms, context in quiz mode, or better handling of ambiguous questions would be appreciated.

Excellent This app has a large collection of vocabulary and the quizzes get into all the grammar - conjugations, declensions. It's the best I've found for studying ancient Greek.

This app is a scam. It claims to teach Ancient Greek, but it is nothing more than a lazily compiled vocabulary list with no actual instruction or grammar. The high ratings are clearly deceptive and likely from the developer's associates. It does not provide the service advertised.

The app actively opposes your attempts to learn. When you enter a wrong
response, the correct answer is shown for 1 second, then the app
automatically moves to the next question. Answers are also automatically
displayed after a period of time, and this cannot be disabled. Needless,
idiot design like this impedes learning. I regret wasting my money on this.
