My testing seems to say that the "old" Mebo 1.0 app doesn't work with Nougat (7.0) and Oreo (8.0), but fine with Lollipop (5.0) and a little unstable with Marshmallow (6.0). Clearly, something changed with Android & wi-fi right around the time people started having problems. I've gotten a couple of Mebo's sold as "not working" that are fine with an old phone or tablet. Getting an old Lollipop tablet to control your Mebo 1.0 is probably a good idea... eBay has lots of cheap ones, and it takes care of the issue of the controls being too small on a phone, too.

Won't connect to the mebo

Peace of junk, three weekends wasted figuring out the problem why wifi
disconnects on mebo app, why battery low error message pop on, instead I
fully charged new batteries. If I spend this time on Amazon assembled robot
I might learned few thinks. Waste of money spending on mebo, which don't
work with wifi signal through phone app.
