While drafting the designs,it seems to be easy to pickup data and add. It can be used as a ready reckon er for Mechanical engineers. Particularly intended for designers while drafting. It deals with Location, position,transitional and permanent fits It describes about the bearing fit for housing and shafts on various loading conditions. Unique bearing selection provides various bearing with their dynamic load by simply entering the shaft diameter. Key way fit for loose, normal and close for each keys are provided. Splines are of two types like Straight and In volute splines fit is given for sliding and permanent fits. Internal and External cir clips with their dimensions and their strength can also be determined by simply entering the shaft and housing diameters. oil seal tolerence can be determined. Design stress can be calculated by simply entering the UTS value. Shear, bending and tensile stress can be determined which is very useful for mechanical engineers for design of various components. Surface finish is the another great feature presents in the application. we can find out the Ra value for all machining process. Material selection for gear materials gives a broad idea about design of gears with various materials for different situations. Gear design is a complicated design procedure . Nice work done by kutty, kindly keep updating it. Surface doesn't have unit, I mean Ra or Rz or Rt? Also, it'll be great if sample questions/workouts are added in app.
