MEMENTO MORI — REMEMBER DEATH, REMEMBER TO LIVE

The ancient Stoics practiced "memento mori" — meditating on mortality to live more fully. This app brings that timeless wisdom to your pocket.

Life feels endless until it isn't. We postpone dreams, delay meaningful conversations, and assume there's always tomorrow. Memento Mori gently reminds you: your time is limited. Use it wisely.

HOW IT WORKS

Enter your birthday and expected lifespan. Instantly see your remaining time displayed in years, months, weeks, and days. It's simple, powerful, and perspective-shifting.

FEATURES

- Multiple Views — Toggle between seeing all time units at once, or focus on just years, months, weeks, or days

- Life Progress Bar — A visual indicator showing what percentage of your expected life has passed

WHY USE MEMENTO MORI?

This isn't about fear or anxiety. It's about appreciation and intention.

When you see that you have roughly 2,847 weeks remaining, something shifts. Suddenly that grudge feels pointless. That dream you've been postponing feels urgent. That phone call to someone you love feels essential.

Users report:
→ Greater clarity on priorities
→ Less time wasted on trivial matters
→ More gratitude for ordinary moments
→ Increased motivation to pursue meaningful goals

THE STOIC TRADITION

Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and other Stoic philosophers regularly contemplated death — not to be morbid, but to be alive. As Seneca wrote: "Let us prepare our minds as if we'd come to the very end of life."

Memento Mori continues this 2,000-year tradition in a modern, accessible format.
