Description
The Memorium Nuremberg Trials App takes you to the historic site of the Nuremberg Trials. It combines a multimedia museum guide for the Memorium Nuremberg Trials with the narrative serious game “Tribunal 45 – Working on Justice”. The app invites you to not only learn about history, but also to reflect on questions of law, responsibility, and justice yourself.
• The Media Guide • The guide leads you through the permanent exhibition and Courtroom 600, the venue of the first international war crimes trials. It provides information at the historical site about the proceedings before the International Military Tribunal and also expands its focus to the subsequent Nuremberg trials and their influence on the development of international criminal law. The contents of the permanent exhibition are available in nine languages, including original audio and video recordings from the time of the trials. A youth audio guide and a tour in German Sign Language are included. The guide can also be operated via voice output and offers customizable accessibility settings.
• The Serious Game: Tribunal 45 – Working on Justice • In this narrative serious game, you take on the role of lawyer Aline Chalufour, who works for the French prosecution during the first Nuremberg Trial. Engage in conversations with people involved in the proceedings, sort documents, and make decisions on moral and legal questions: Who should be indicted? Who bears responsibility? In which language should witnesses be allowed to testify? With every decision, your understanding grows that law is always negotiated and that the path to justice, then as now, is never an easy one.
