Meridian

Meridian is an offline climate reference designed for exploring climate patterns, comparing cities, reviewing historical normals, studying seasonal trends, and keeping personal climate notes. The app brings together a city atlas, temperature and precipitation charts, climate classifications, comparison tools, records, quizzes, and a personal journal in one organized mobile interface.

The main screen provides a quick climate overview for a selected location. Review temperature, precipitation, climate type, seasonal patterns, and other available indicators without moving through multiple sections. Compact charts make it easier to understand how conditions change throughout the year.

Meridian includes climate information for 99 cities available offline. Browse locations from different regions of the world and open individual city profiles to examine their typical conditions. The stored catalog allows you to explore reference information without requiring a continuous internet connection.

Each city profile organizes important climate characteristics into a clear format. Review climate classification, annual temperature patterns, precipitation levels, seasonal differences, and additional reference data. Visual charts provide context for numerical values and make monthly changes easier to compare.

The Monthly Normals section presents temperature and precipitation information throughout the year. Follow the temperature curve from January through December, examine monthly precipitation bars, and review individual monthly values in a structured list.

Historical information is presented through charts based on available climate datasets. Several years of reduced climate data are stored on the device, providing a convenient reference for examining patterns and trends without loading information every time the app is opened.

A dedicated comparison feature allows you to examine two climates side by side. Select two available cities and compare their temperature patterns, precipitation, seasonal characteristics, and climate classifications. This makes differences between locations easier to understand using the same set of indicators.

Meridian also provides climate-zone information for individual locations. City profiles identify the corresponding climate type and include additional context about its characteristics. This helps connect numerical observations with broader climate classifications.

The Climate Journal provides a place for personal notes and observations. Create entries related to weather, seasonal changes, unusual conditions, or other climate-related observations. Journal records remain organized by date so previous entries can be reviewed later.

The Insights section summarizes information collected through different parts of the app. Review activity indicators, climate-related patterns, comparison results, and other available summaries through compact charts and information cards.

Additional learning tools provide another way to explore climate information. Use quizzes to check your knowledge, browse records and reference material, and consult the built-in glossary when you encounter unfamiliar climate terminology.
